Blackhat Blog SEO
We have only recently started up this blog and the main objective of our blogging will be to talk SEO without the jargon. So just like email, forums, Facebook, Twitter and blogging the spammers will find you.
There are a lot of anti-spamulating plugins for WordPress etc but the Blackhat SEO that we wish to talk about are not the multi million email sender spammers but the generic posters that only want the Link.

High Level SEO Website Checklist
There are a lot of action items below, covering a high level listing of all things SEO that is required to fully expose your website to the world. There is no techie talk, so go on and give it a quick read. It will help!
There is a lot more detail behind these action items (your should see our action/task plan!) – but please ensure you at least consider these tasks in order to maximise traffic to your website.
Basically you need to:
- Know your market
- Know the keyphrases that your customers use
- Build and optimise your website around these keywords
- Build a collection of quality and relevant links TO your website as search engines do not rank lonely Billy No-Mates websites, no matter how lovely they are!
- Launch your website to the world – Website Promotion
- Monitor your traffic and analyse what works and does not work on your website
- Maintain continuous improvment to your website and keep building those links

Keyphrases and keywords are the buliding blocks of all things web.
You have to be very certain of what your user is typing into the search engines. It is so important that you do not assume you know what they are typing. I’m working an SEO Audit with a client who makes wonderful cakes.
She was hooked on a “wonderful” word – BESPOKE i.e. she wanted the world to know of her marvellous bespoke cakes.
“Bespoke” methinks! That reminds me of customised software etc.
Thus a battle ensued, a battle that I managed to win with a detailed listing from Googles’ Keyword Tool. There wasn’t anyone using the keyphrase “bespoke cakes” as a search term – wel maybe one (and I wonder who that was).
She was OK in the end and sure we still bespoked the website with text embedded in .jpgs while “custom” was tucked away in the ALT tags.
